At the Pre-School of Basker International Childcare, formerly known as Zein Childcare, your child discovers something new every day. Through a range of activities, children learn to collaborate, express their ideas within a group, and ask for help when they need it. These experiences help them discover their abilities and build the confidence that supports a smooth transition to primary school.

Your child will start to understand themselves and the world around them more. They will discover how to work together and find their voice in a group. Everything they learn now lays the foundation for their future learning.

Transition to school

Learn through play

Your child learns by doing, trying, observing, and simply being with peers. If they find something difficult, our pedagogic professionals will help them try again. At their own pace. That’s how confidence grows!

Childcare is a collaboration. With extra services, we make your life as easy as possible. Freshly prepared meals? Provided at the location. Need extra childcare for a day? Just let us know and we’ll check availability.

The gift of language

Many children who join us speak a language other than English at home. At Basker International Childcare, we understand the added value that a bilingual or multilingual upbringing can offer, and we ensure that we support the language development of all children in our care. Whether your child will attend a local Dutch school or experience an international education, spending time in an English-speaking environment during their developmental years can provide many advantages.

A warm lunch

We prepare fresh, nutritious food on site every day, ensuring that children enjoy healthy meals during their Pre-School mornings. To encourage them to eat a wide variety of foods and develop good eating habits, we offer morning snacks that include plenty of fresh fruit and organic vegetables, along with milk and water. At lunchtime, children enjoy a freshly prepared warm meal made by our chef.

Group start

Together we will be singing, reading a book or discussing our next adventures!

Activity time!

Enjoying some crafting, painting, building, or playing in our dedicated areas.

A snack

Would you like an apple or a pear? Or perhaps a banana or a kiwi? Time for some fruit and drinks! We do this mindfully, to enjoy the food and each other’s company.

Outside play

Time to go outside and enjoy our lovely outdoor areas. Whether it’s raining or the sun is shining, it doesn’t matter: we will have fun anyway!

Keeping you in the loop

Your pre-schooler is curious and independent, sometimes calm, sometimes full of energy. They try things out, change their mind, hang back to observe, or jump straight in. All of that is perfectly fine with us. We keep you informed about your child’s experiences and development.

Big and small milestones

Every child is an individual who develops in specific ways and at their own pace. At Pre-School, children receive a range of early learning experiences that support all areas of development. We schedule annual progress meetings around the child’s birthday in which parents receive a detailed report on their child’s development.

We love watching your child grow. Seeing your pre-schooler become more skilled at building or drawing, learning new words, and playing with friends. We notice every step and share it with you, at drop off or pick up, or during a parent meeting. We talk about how your child is doing, what is going well, and what support might they need.

Was your child creative with clay today or having a blast on the slide? We understand that you’re curious. That’s why we share photos and stories, so you can feel involved even when you’re not there. Through our app, you can easily send us a message and handle practical matters. You can also read the latest news and activities from your childcare location.

Cost calculation

We offer attendance patterns ranging from one to five mornings per week. Through the Dutch Childcare Allowance (or kinderopvangtoeslag), the Dutch tax authorities reimburse a substantial portion of childcare costs when both parents (or a single parent) are working or studying.
