Step into our world
What does our pedagogical policy consist of?
Welcome to Basker International Childcare
Our well-qualified team of childcare professionals provides engaging learning experiences that support all areas of development. They inspire, support and challenge your child. Through meaningful activities and relationships, your child will learn about themselves, how to connect with others and how to embrace change with adaptability and confidence. This lays the foundations to thrive, wherever life may take them.
Our pedagogic approach
How do we guide children in their development? At Basker International Childcare, we know it is not only about what we do, but also about why and how we do it. Our pedagogical practice combines the latest research with over a decade of experience in working with international children.

What makes us unique
With many families far from loved ones, we offer a warm, welcoming community. This feeling is reinforced by individual attention for your family, inviting interiors, and home-like spaces such as open kitchens, a spacious inner hall, and a parents’ room.
The needs of internationals
We recognise that exposure to many cultures from an early age offers a unique perspective and shapes who children become. Our staff aims to equip children with the skills to navigate change and feel at home during transitions and in foreign environments, for example when arriving in the Netherlands.
Our approach fosters skills like empathy, persistence, and self-esteem in children; skills that are key to their wellbeing, learning, and success at school, at home, and with peers.
Positive behaviour guidance
Using an approach centred around helping children understand the power of their own choices, staff help children understand the link between actions and consequences. This child-centred approach builds self-esteem, responsibility, and decision-making skills.
Healthy eating is key to development. Our on-site chefs serve warm, organic meals and snacks, tailored to diverse cultural and dietary needs.
Learning through exploration
Basker's group spaces feature open-access learning zones that spark curiosity and support all areas of development. Zones include Imagination, Construction, Books, Art, Science, Nature, and more. Our natural gardens are designed with all ages in mind, supporting countless hours of outdoor play and discovery.
