Outside every day

We’ll kick things off on International Mud Day, Monday 30 June. Because what’s more fun (and educational!) than playing with mud? Squishing, scooping, building… Mud play is great for sensory development – and for creating lots of happy, messy moments!

Throughout the week, we challenge everyone to spend time outdoors every single day. That includes children and parents alike. To help you along, we’ve created a special activity card with one fun and surprising outdoor activity for each day. It’s easy to join in: just pick a moment, head outside together and see what happens!

Outdoor fun at childcare

At our childcare locations, we’ll be spending even more time outside than usual this week – not just during the regular morning and afternoon playtimes, but also in between. We’ll take every chance we get to enjoy the outdoors: reading stories in the shade, sharing fruit, exploring nature, building in the grass, crafting outside or singing songs under the trees. We turn our outdoor spaces into an extension of the indoor environment. That way, children experience that you can play, learn and relax anywhere.

The benefits of being outdoors

Spending time outside brings so many positive effects – for children and adults:

  • Outdoor play encourages movement, which supports coordination, fitness and immunity.
  • Being outside sparks imagination and creativity.
  • Nature play reduces stress and boosts your mood.
  • Daylight (even on cloudy days) helps the body produce vitamin D.
  • Spending time outside together strengthens the parent–child bond.
  • Fresh air improves sleep quality.
